Job Summary
We are seeking to engage a passionate and dedicated English Teacher who is committed to inspiring a love for the English language and guiding students throughout their educational journey at NorthLight School. This role requires the design and delivery of engaging lessons, the fostering of a safe and inclusive classroom environment, and the monitoring of student progress. You will also be responsible for providing meaningful feedback, preparing assessments, and maintaining records. Additionally, you will collaborate with colleagues, communicate regularly with parents, and contribute actively to co-curricular activities and school committees, playing an active role in nurturing the holistic growth and character development of our students.
Role and Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver engaging and effective English lessons that meet the needs of students at their levels of proficiency.
Create and maintain an inviting and safe classroom environment that fosters learning and encourages student participation.
Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback on academic performance, behavior, and other relevant areas.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure that students receive a well-rounded educational experience that promotes their overall academic success.
Participate in professional development opportunities to keep up-to-date with the latest teaching techniques, technologies, and best practices in the field of English education.
Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to keep them informed of student progress and any issues that may arise.
Prepare and administer assessments to evaluate student learning and provide feedback to students and parents.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student grades, attendance, and other relevant data.
Participate in co-curricular activities with students and actively contribute to the committee involved.
Personal Competencies, Qualifications and Experiences:
Possesses a minimum teaching qualification of at least a Diploma/Post Graduate Diploma in Education, International Baccalaureate, or Cambridge International Education.
At least 3 years of relevant teaching experience, preferably in an education institution.
Good team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Good classroom management skills with a strong passion for student development.
Possesses a resilient disposition and a keen passion for working with youth.
Preferred Credentials
Recognised teaching qualification from institutions such as the National Institute of Education (NIE), International Baccalaureate, Cambridge International Education, or Institute of Technical Education (ITE).
