    ITE SKILLS CERTIFICATE (ISC) IN ELECTRICAL SERVICING
    This course aims to equip learners with the requisite skills and knowledge in installing, maintaining and servicing basic domestic and industrial electrical wiring and related equipment in the building, industrial plants and machinery according to engineering specifications and codes of practice.

    Core Modules
    There are 5 core modules in the Electrical Servicing Course.
    The 5 core modules are :

    • Fundamentals of Electricity
    • Residential Wiring Systems

    • Electrical Maintenance and Control

    ITE SKILLS CERTIFICATE (ISC) IN MECHANICAL SERVICING
    This course aims to equip learners with the vocational technical skills and knowledge in installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and overhauling of various mechanical production machines and industrial equipment in a factory or process plant.

    Core Modules
    There are 5 core modules in the Mechanical Servicing Course.
    The 5 core modules are :

    • Mechanical Fabrication
    • Piping & Valve System
    • Machinery Servicing
    • Hydraulics & Pneumatics
    • Industrial Attachment

ITE Skills Certificate in Electrical Servicing

Module 1: Fundamentals of Electricity

Students should be able to explain basic principles of electricity and DC machine, connect simple electrical circuit to regulate and measure AC and DC electrical quantities.



Module 2: Residential Wiring Systems

Students should be able to install a residential and telephone wiring in compliance with local standards and regulations.



Module 3: Industrial Wiring Systems

Students should be able to install an industrial wiring in compliance with local standards and regulations.



Module 4 : Electrical Maintenance & Control

Students should be able to connect and rectify control circuits for 3-phase motors, and to inspect, maintain, service, repair and test electrical appliances and equipment.






ITE Skills Certificate in Mechanical Servicing

Module 1: Mechanical Fabrication

Students are trained to fabricate and fit engineering components, by bench fitting and drilling operation according to the specifications in a working drawing.



Module 2: Piping & Valve System

Students are trained to carry out minor repair and replacement of fluid supply pipes and fittings and to maintain, troubleshoot and repair industrial fluid valves.



Module 3: Machinery Servicing

Students are trained to carry out a preventive maintenance programme, maintain and service bearings and basic engineering mechanisms, lubrication systems and mechanical transmission systems; lift and move heavy loads safely.



Module 4: Hydraulics & Pneumatics

Students are trained to install and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems in plant machinery and equipment.



  • BASIC ELECTRONICS
    • Students learn basic electronics symbols through soldering of the devices of simple electronic circuits as projects works.

  • BASIC ELECTRICAL WIRING
    • Students learn basic principles of electrical, connect simple electronics circuit and install wiring systems in residential premises.

  • BASIC MECHANICAL
    • Students learn to fabricate and fit engineering components using common hand tools and using drilling machines according to specification with reference to the working drawing.

    • Students learn to interpret mechanical drawing and draw simple engineering components diagrams using CAD System.

    • Students learn to service, maintain and replace faulty parts of landscape machines.

    • Students learn to carry out inspections of various engineering components using appropriate measuring tools against a working drawing.

    • Students learn to perform simple servicing of 2-stroke and 4- stroke engines and maintain motorcycles.

    • Students learn to troubleshoot, service and repair piping systems in building.

    • Students learn to perform routine maintenance and parts replacement, install and test residential air- conditioning units.

Taster Module for ISC in Mechanical Servicing
Basic Mechanical Fitting

The taster module for the ISC in Mechanical Servicing aims to enable the students to discover their interests, aptitudes and talents in mechanical servicing. Students will have an opportunity to acquire some basic mechanical skills through interpreting blueprints, producing CAD drawings, dismantling and assembling of a bicycle, assembling of copper pipe system, pneumatic automated system and storage racks.

Applications of Electricity

The taster module for the ISC in Electrical Servicing aims to enhance the students’ appreciation of electrical applications in our daily activities and expose them to the career opportunities available in the electrical trade. Students will be engaged through various mini projects to explore the fundamentals of electricity. Many applications of electricity that most people would have already taken for granted will be explained to them through installation plans and drawings and site show rounds.

Module 1 - Mechanical Fabrication

  2. Cut internal or external thread with taps and dies

ISC in Electrical Servicing
Module 1 - Fundamentals of Electricity

  1. Check on electrical components
  2. Observe electrical safety rules
  3. Proper use of tools
  4. Proper use of electrical measuring instrument

Module 2 - Residential wiring system

  1. Wiring of MCB, MCCB, Meters
  2. Interpret electrical wiring diagram
  3. Cutting of wires to the correct length
  4. Proper termination of wire

Module 3 - Industrial Wiring system

  1. Install metallic conduit or trunking
  2. Wiring of electrical circuit in distribution board
  3. Checking of wiring in distribution board

Module 4 - Electrical Maintenance and Control

  1. Perform fault finding of electrical circuit in distribution board
  2. Rectify faults in the electrical circuit in distribution board
  3. Test the wiring in distribution board
