Character Development Education

NorthLight Programme
The NorthLight Programme seeks to develop in each student the school values of ‘SHINE’ (i.e.sincerity, honesty, innovation, network and excellence).Social-emotional competencies will be developed through various platforms so that students will possess the courage and strength of character to face challenges and overcome adversity.

Sports and Wellness Programme
The Sports and Wellness programme provides an avenue for students to express themselves through physical activities, while equipping them with the knowledge, skills and attitudes towards the pursuit of a lifelong, physically active and healthy lifestyle.

Arts Appreciation Programme
The Arts Appreciation programme focuses on fundamental aesthetic concepts and skills that will enhance the students’ confidence and self-esteem. It will enable them to confidently articulate their own ideas through a process of exploration, development and evaluation.

Foundation Education

Language Literacy Programme
The Language Literacy Programme will help students acquire the foundation literacy skills.The programme focuses on effective communication in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Through a series of meaningful tasks, students will learn to communicate confidently and accurately.

‘Math Works for Us!’ Programme
The ‘Math Works for Us!’ programme will help students acquire the foundation mathematical concepts and skills for daily living and work. Mathematics will be introduced through meaningful hands-on learning tasks that are interesting, relevant and set in realistic contexts (e.g. reading and using a recipe for a topic on weights and measures).

ICT Literacy Programme
Students will develop the confidence and competency to use a wide repertoire of media, software and online resources to support their learning, and accomplish real-life tasks.

Vocational Education

Vocational Training Programme
Students will have access to a wide range of vocational training modules to help them acquire a variety of work-related skills and competencies.

Industrial Attachment
For industry-specific training, the students will be placed on a 10-week attachment. The industrial attachment will hone students’ work-related skills.

Pre-Employment Skills Training
Pre-employment skills training, conducted in Year 3 before students graduate, will equip students with the basic skills required for job applications. These skills include work ethics, writing application letters, preparing a portfolio, personal grooming and handling interviews.
