The NorthLight Soccer team is made up of pupils who are brimming with enthusiasm and passion for the sport. Training sessions are led by the Soccer Teachers every Thursday afternoon. During soccer trainings, the soccer teachers emphasise on:
- Sportsmanship and Fair Play,
- Team Belief and Cohesion,
- Fitness and Strength,
- Individual Discipline and,
- Commitment to the School and to the Team
Attendance for training sessions and players’ improvement in their skills are rigorously monitored. Soccer players are also expected to be polite and honourable in their daily conduct. The selection criteria for players to represent the School in tournaments are:
- Excellent attendance for all training sessions, and
- Improvement in skills through hard work

NAME OF COMPETITION: FAS FICO Fives 2009

VENUE: Fico Sports Hub, Jurong West
The NorthLight C Div boys participated in the recent FAS FICO Fives competition. We took part in two categories - the Under-14 and the Under-15 categories. The players were selected based on consistent attendance and hard work during weekly training sessions. The players in the 2 teams were:
U-14 team:
Manager: Mr Ken
Muhd Hasmawi 1S2 (captain), Muhd Adam 1A1, Syed Ibrahim 1S2, Danesh 1S2, Muhd Nafiah 1A2, Teo Jia Sheng 1A3, Muhd Nurhakim 1A3, Muhd Redzuan 1S2 and Syed 1A3.
U-15 team:
Manager: Mr Jesper
Nur Haikal 2T2 (captain), Muhd Faizal 2T2, Muhd Al-Hakim 2S2, Muhd Hidayat 2A2, Nur Rabbani 2R3, Muhd Raihan 2A1, Mohd Shafiz 2T3, Bayu Ridwan 2R3, Muhd Amirul 2T3, L Subian 2T3.
Both teams gave a good account of themselves in this competition, where they squared off against teams of various standards. The U-14 team was a little unlucky as they missed out on qualifying for the Quarter-finals, even though they played 4 matches and lost only one match.
Nevertheless, the boys have gained much experience from this carnival and understand that with more hard work and self-belief, the NorthLight C Boys will definitely achieve more success!
