Lee Hsien Loong Award for Special Achievement (LHL ASA) 2011Lee Chuan Jie received the Lee Hsien Loong Award for Special Achievement 2011. This award was given to students from NorthLight School and Assumption Pathway School, since 2009, for their overall academic and CCA achievements, contributions to the school and community, strong leadership qualities and positive character development . The award is funded by an endowment donated by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong

The goal of education is to nurture the whole child, including his/her character. Character development is the teaching of values and social and emotional competencies. It is also about providing opportunities for students to demonstrate behaviour consistent with the values taught.The Outstanding Development Award for Character Development recognises schools with innovative, sustainable and exemplary approaches to character development.
CIP - GO! CarnivalSingapore Soka Association (SSA) GO! CARNIVAL was held at People’s Association Headquarters on 10 July 2011. Families got together to celebrate the Racial Harmony Month and to promote peace and friendship. Students from NLS helped to facilitate the Children Art Competition and the Mask-Making activity together with volunteers from SSA.
NDP 2011NLS celebrated Singapore's 46th Birthday on 8 August 2011. The celebration started with a parade by the Girl Guides and NCDCC Cadets and concluded with the National Day recollections. Staff and pupils sang this year's national day theme song "In a Heartbeat" and answered pop-quiz questions. Prizes were also given out for the best-decorated classroom competition.

Mr.Luis Nani Visit @ NLSManchester United footballer Luis Nani made a surprise appearance at NLS on 27 June 2011to promote the Singapore Olympic Foundation-Peter Lim Sports Scholarship. Nani commented that he could see that the students at NLS wanted a good future and they were in "the right place where they can learn a lot of things"

INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICIT TRAFFICKING 2010 - NTI-DRUG PLEDGE WALL COMPETITION: BEST AWARDOur school’s entry comprises of the words from this year's theme Life Does Not Rewind. The graffiti wall depicts a windmill scattered with capsules and pills. The windmill turns only in one direction and does not turn backwards.
This tells us that often mistakes result in consequences which are irreversible and we have to move forward in life. Graffiti, as a form of public art, is employed to communicate social messages, consequences and implications in life. It is vibrant and colourful, to effectively bring across the anti-drug message to our youths.

Outstanding Partners Award 2010The biennial PARTNERS Award, which was instituted in 2002, is presented by COMPASS to recognise efforts made by schools in promoting and strengthening collaborative partnerships with their stakeholders such as parents, the alumni, School Advisory Committee/School Management Committee (SAC/SMC), community groups and business organisations.
