NorthLight School was awarded the Outstanding Development Award (Character Development) 2011
The goal of education is to nurture the whole child, including his/her character. Character development is the teaching of values and social and emotional competencies. It is also about providing opportunities for students to demonstrate behaviour consistent with the values taught.The Outstanding Development Award for Character Development recognises schools with innovative, sustainable and exemplary approaches to character development.

JOINT HPB-MOE CHERISH Award 2010 - Silver
The CHERISH (CHampioning Efforts Resulting in Improved School Health) Award was launched in August 2000 to give recognition to and encourage schools to establish comprehensive health promotion programmes for students and staff through the fostering of good physical, social and emotional health for optimal learning. The CHERISH Award provides a framework for establishing comprehensive health promotion programmes in the school.

Community in Bloom 2010 - Silver
Our Gardening Community CCA has won the Silver Award and a $250 cash prize for the Community In bloom Awards 2010 , organized by the National Parks Board.This is the second time that NLS has achieved the Silver Award. The objective of the Competition is to inculcate Singaporeans the sense of environmental responsibility, garden and landscape design, and garden maintenance. This was a team project; our Gardening Community students have worked hard and contributed their best efforts and time towards this achievement. Through this project, students also benefited from working as a team and most importantly, a sense of bonding and rapport among them have been established. This experience is invaluable in their journey at NLS.

Samsung Sports Media Challenge 2010 - Merit Award Winner
NLS took part in the Samsung Sports Challenge 2010 whereby the team reported on sports-related activities, especially on Outdoor Activities. We are pleased to announce that Northlight School came in as the top 5 schools and received a Merit Award Winner of the Samsung Sports Media Challenge 2010,Secondary School / JC Category.The Team members are:- Kevin Nonis - 3FP1

Lee Chuan Jie has also been selected as one of three Sports Presenters for the YOG besides two others from Crescent Girls' and NJC.

Outstanding Partners award 2010 ( 2010-2015)
The biennial PARTNERS Award, which was instituted in 2002, is presented by COMPASS to recognise efforts made by schools in promoting and strengthening collaborative partnerships with their stakeholders such as parents, the alumni, School Advisory Committee/School Management Committee (SAC/SMC), community groups and business organisations.

Outstanding Development Award, ODA (NE) 2010 (2010-2015)
National Education is an important part of the education process. It aims to develop in our young the instinct for survival, national cohesion and confidence in our future. National Education provides the knowledge, experience and tools for our young to know and understand Singapore, acquire a well-founded confidence about the Singaporean way of life, and critically think about how they can shape Singapore’s future. The National Education Awards recognise schools for their national education efforts. There are two levels of attainment for the National Education Awards: Development Award and Outstanding Development Award. The attainment of the level of award depends on how well a school meets the evaluation criteria.
